This time last year I was in the middle of closing down a business that my partner and I had poured our heart and soul (and a LOT of cash) into that didn’t survive Covid, my mum had been horribly burnt in an accident and had just come home from being in the burns unit in hospital for over a month, I was trying to keep my own business afloat and look after my family. It felt like the whole world was caving in on me. I was barely coping. This is what I learnt :
1. Bad stuff happens. To everyone. So be kind. Always.
2. When you think you can’t go on anymore, you actually can. You go step by step, one foot in font of the other until it gets better. Because it absolutely does.
3. Your real friends are the ones who will listen to your shit, watch you ugly cry, tell you everything is going to be okay and hold your hand until you can walk on your own again.
4. Hugs have healing powers. And so does a good cup of tea 🫖

I noticed the other day that whilst comments were down on my account, watch time and views on my reels was up. ⁠

It's lovely to receive comments and DMs, likes and shares, but even without these I can tell my content is working because watch time and views are up.⁠

None of my recent posts have been for sales, they've all been about adding value, so I can measure its effectiveness that way.⁠

If I was selling I would be able to measure it via a tangible outcome such as downloads, dollar amounts, etc. ⁠

Don't measure your content only by the amount of likes, comments and shares you have. Not everyone will engage this way. It doesn't mean your content isn't worthwhile.⁠
